Greetings to you! Once again, I have a sobering news update on the subject of Climate Change. This week, President Joe Biden will lay out a major infrastructure package, which will include record spending to tackle climate change. His upcoming recovery plan will most likely involve, “… installing thousands of electric vehicle charging stations and building millions of new energy-efficient homes.” This plan is going to involve, “ … President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda and supports his broader goal to achieve carbon-free power generation by 2035 and net-zero emissions by 2050.”
President Biden Will Introduce $3 Trillion Spending BIll Investing in Technologies Which Combat Climate Change
Biden’s package is, “…expected to introduce up to $3 trillion in spending on efforts to boost the economy, including rebuilding aging infrastructure like highways, bridges and rail lines, and investing in technologies to reduce planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions.”
Additionally, President Biden appointed Michael S. Regan who since March 11, 2021 is now serving as the 16th Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency [EPA].
Mr. Regan was named Secretary of N.C. Department of Environmental Quality [DEQ] by Governor Roy Cooper on Jan. 3, 2017.
In his position as DEQ secretary, Michael S. Regan oversaw the state agency. Its mission is to protect North Carolina’s environment and natural resources. “The organization has offices from the mountains to the coast and administers regulatory and public assistance programs aimed at protecting the quality of North Carolina’s air, water and land, its coastal fisheries, and the public’s health.”
Prior to that, “Regan worked with the Environmental Protection Agency’s air quality and energy programs for the Clinton and Bush administrations. Before leaving the agency, Regan served as a national program manager responsible for designing programs aimed at reducing pollution, and market-based solutions to improve energy efficiency, air quality and climate-related challenges.
Regan also founded M. Regan & Associates, LLC, a firm dedicated to helping organizations find transformational solutions to complex energy, environmental and economic challenges.”
Finally, award-winning children’s author, Robert Scott Thayer will be releasing his fourth installment in the Kobee Manatee® Children’s Educational Picture Book coming out in September 2021.
